TIWIG MyBench User Manual

Everything you need to get started — from adding your first firearm to logging precision range sessions and analyzing your results.

Quick Start: Your First Build & Range Session

Follow these six steps to go from an empty account to a fully documented range session.

STEP 1

Register Your First Firearm

Everything in MyBench revolves around your firearms. The FirearmHub is your starting point.

  1. 1From the Dashboard, click the FirearmHub tile in the sidebar (or use the "Add Firearm" quick button).
  2. 2Click "Add Firearm" and fill in the basics: Name (required), Make, Model, Caliber, Action Type, and Twist Rate.
  3. 3Optionally add optics details (scope, magnification, click value, rings, scope height), barrel info (length, twist, serial), suppressor, trigger, and stock/chassis.
  4. 4Click Save. Your firearm now appears in the FirearmHub with a detail page containing tabs for Builds, Range Sessions, Recipes, Maintenance, Barrels, and Consumption.

Tip: You can track multiple barrels per firearm and log barrel erosion measurements (throat erosion, headspace) over time from the Barrels tab.

STEP 2

Build Your Component Inventory

Before you can create recipes or build ammo, you need components on the shelf.

  1. 1Navigate to Inventory in the sidebar.
  2. 2Click "Add Component" and select the type: Primer, Brass, Powder, or Bullet.
  3. 3For each component, enter: Quantity on hand, Cost per unit, Lot number, and Low-stock threshold.
  4. 4Click Save. Repeat for all four component types.

Tip: You can bulk-import components from a CSV, run a ShootingBot search for live vendor pricing, and export your full inventory ledger at any time.

STEP 3

Create Your First Recipe

A recipe ties your components together with specific load data.

  1. 1Navigate to Recipes in the sidebar (or via a firearm's detail page).
  2. 2Click "New Recipe" and fill in: Name, Caliber, Firearm, and component links (brass, bullet, primer, powder).
  3. 3Enter your powder charge in grains, COAL in inches, and CBTO (recommended for precision).
  4. 4Optionally add H2O case capacity, neck tension, primer seating depth, expected velocity, and load development methodology (OCW, Ladder, Seating Depth, etc.).
  5. 5Click Save. The recipe is now linked to your firearm and components.

Tip: Recipe statuses are your own organizational labels. They do not establish that a load is safe, pressure-tested, or manufacturer-validated.

STEP 4

Build Your First Ammo

Now you'll turn components into loaded rounds. You have two options.

  1. 1Option A — Quick Build (Build Loads): Select a recipe, enter quantity plus sighters and foulers, validate stock, and click Build. Inventory is auto-deducted.
  2. 2Option B — Ladder Development (Custom Ammo Box Builder): Select firearm and recipe, configure starting charge, increment, series count, and rounds per series.
  3. 3The grid populates with charge assignments per cell. Add sighters and foulers as needed.
  4. 4Click Finalize Build — inventory is deducted, a Build record with a Batch ID is created, and the ammo box is linked for range session tracking.

Tip: The Build record captures a full snapshot of your recipe and lot numbers at build time. You can also copy historical builds to jumpstart a new session.

STEP 5

Log a Range Session

After shooting, document your results with full environmental context.

  1. 1Navigate to Range Log in the sidebar and click "Log Range Session".
  2. 2Select your Build/Batch ID and firearm (auto-populates from the build).
  3. 3Enter date, range name, distance, group size, rounds fired, and shooter position.
  4. 4Auto-fetch live weather (temp, humidity, wind, barometric pressure, density altitude) via geolocation, or enter manually.
  5. 5Attach target photos and session files. Click Save.

Tip: When you log a session with a linked ammo box, the Range Session Box Sync workflow automatically marks the box as "shot," debits inventory, and syncs chrono stats — no manual steps needed.

STEP 6

Import Chronograph Data

ChronoLab lets you import and analyze velocity data from popular chronographs.

  1. 1Navigate to ChronoLab in the sidebar.
  2. 2Drag and drop your chronograph export file — supported formats include Garmin Xero C1, Athlon, ShotMarker, and generic CSV.
  3. 3The file is auto-parsed into series and individual shots with velocity readings.
  4. 4Review the shot string graph, powder scatter/line graphs, or seating depth graphs.
  5. 5Save graphs with custom titles and toggle options (ES, SD, avg, trend lines, color themes).

Tip: When new chrono shots are added to a session linked to an ammo box, the Chrono Shot Box Sync workflow automatically recalculates avg velocity, SD, and ES on the box — keeping your stats live.

STEP 7

Analyze Your Results

See your performance and cost data come together with advanced analytics.

  1. 1Go to the FirearmHub and click your firearm to see its detail page.
  2. 2Review the Range Sessions tab for velocity trends, group sizes, and session history.
  3. 3Check the Builds tab for cost-per-round breakdowns and component usage.
  4. 4Visit Reports for standard reports (inventory, build volume, cost analysis, range performance).
  5. 5Explore Advanced Analytical Reports: Barrel Life & Erosion, Consumption Forecast, Environmental Sensitivity, Accuracy Benchmark, and Cost-to-Performance.
  6. 6Check Calculation History for a filtered, grouped view of all your build cost-per-round data.

Tip: Export any report as a high-fidelity PDF for your records, or email it directly to yourself from the Reports page.

STEP 8

Automate & Optimize

Let MyBench handle the busywork so you can focus on shooting.

  1. 1Automated workflows sync ammo box status, inventory debits, and chrono stats whenever you log a range session or import chrono data.
  2. 2The Weekly Recipe Cost Check runs every Monday at 9 AM to alert you of price fluctuations on your active recipes.
  3. 3Use Load Evidence Review to summarize your stored measurements and find missing records, Target Analyst for photo-based group analysis, and Tucker for automated price lookups.
  4. 4Generate Brother label printer PDFs and QR code labels directly from the Custom Ammo Box Builder.
  5. 5Design and print custom target sheets with embedded load data, QR codes, and scale bars via the Target Builder.
  6. 6Track component prices across vendors with the Price Tracker and get reorder alerts when stock runs low.
  7. 7Schedule range sessions and maintenance events on the Calendar with optional Google Calendar sync.

Tip: Enable "Bypass Landing Page" in Settings to skip this manual and go straight to your Dashboard on every login.
